# Merchant completion

> Try the merchant’s remaining steps, review and signature.

Open the completion URL (`handoff.url`) returned by creation. In Sandbox, use it
to experience the journey as a synthetic merchant. Partial prefill leaves the
remaining inputs for the merchant. Even complete prefill still requires applicable
documents, review, consent and the Owner 1 signature.

The API supports Full Standard/Fiserv Applications with Owner 1 as the sole
signer. Supplied signer details are unverified prefill, not proof of opening,
verification, review or signature. The API cannot upload documents or sign.

The merchant reviews the Application and pricing, then completes the required consent and signature.

## Keep the completion URL private

Initial access lasts 30 days. Treat the URL as a credential separate from the API
key. Deliver it through your approved merchant-facing channel; keep its token out
of analytics, chat, logs and shared screenshots. Revoking an API key does not
revoke this URL.

## Review protected information

Saved Bank details appear masked. Before signing input freezes, the merchant can
replace the complete Bank group using the existing Bank/Review controls. Saved
account numbers never populate replacement inputs. There is no full-number reveal,
extra Bank checkbox or partner signing shortcut.

## Get the current link

Using `APPLICATION_ID` from successful creation:

```bash theme={null}
curl --silent --show-error --fail-with-body \
  "$PAYLINE_API_BASE/applications/$APPLICATION_ID/handoff" \
  --header "Authorization: Bearer $PAYLINE_API_KEY" \
  --output handoff.json
```

Check `handoff.state`, `handoff.url`, `expiresAt` and `purpose`. Expired, revoked
or unavailable access can have a null URL. GET never issues or renews access;
[replace an eligible unsigned link](https://developers.paylinedata.com/reissue-access.md) deliberately when needed.

After signing, a usable link has confirmation purpose and does not open a new
ceremony. Signing acceptance remains durable while PDF finalization is pending
or fails. [Poll status](https://developers.paylinedata.com/retrieve-applications.md) for files; do not request another
signature to fix finalization. Contact Payline with a safe support reference;
the API has no finalization-retry operation.

All four pricing models are supported. Known PDF pricing-field omissions do not
mean pricing was rejected or promise complete PDF mapping. Current pricing and
immutable signed evidence are separate retrieval surfaces.
